We are looking to recruit an Accounting Technician to join our Finance team. We're seeking a skilled individual capable of performing a variety of routine calculation, accounting, and verification tasks to generate primary financial data for maintaining accurate accounting records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classify, record, and summarise numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records, utilising journals and ledgers.
- Verify figures, entries, and documents to ensure correct input, mathematical accuracy, and appropriate coding.
- Perform financial calculations such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, capital, and principal.
- Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
- Access computerised financial information to answer general queries and those related to specific accounts.
- Calculate, prepare, and issue receipts, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepare statistical, financial, accounting, or audit reports and charts on matters such as cash income, expenses, accounts payable and receivable, and profit and loss.
- Prepare trial balances.
Job requirements:
- Demonstrable experience within a financial administration department, performing accounting duties.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with familiarity with accounting software packages (e.g., SAP) being an advantage.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and financial reporting.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial; the role requires meticulousness, organisation, and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- A cooperative and good-natured attitude for teamwork.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Educational background in Business Administration and Management, Economics, or a Vocational Qualification (FP) in Administration and Finance, or similar.
